I. COVID Testing
At Boston Prep, health and safety is our number one priority. We ask for your help, as families, in a few ways.
Keep your child home if they are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in close contact with someone with COVID-19. If you believe your child is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or has been exposed to someone with COVID-19, please immediately contact our nurses, Ms. Golafaie, Ms. Etheart and Ms. Fenoglietto, at nurses@bostonprep.org. Our nurses will partner with you to determine whether your child must remain home from school and for how long.
If you have not yet registered your child for our FREE COVID testing program, please do so now!
II. Dismissal Updates
Our students and faculty have been working incredibly hard this fall. We know that in order to be our best, we all also need time to care for ourselves. As a result, we will provide space for our community to rest and rejuvinate. Please see dismissal time changes on the following dates:
NEXT WEEK: Tuesday, October 12th and Friday, October 15th: Dismissal will be at 12pm (like a normal Monday schedule). There will be no after school activities.
Friday, November 12th: No School
III. Back to School Night:
This Wednesday, October 6th at 6:00 PM, we look forward to coming together with you online for this year’s Back to School Night! While we cannot be together in person, we will gather virtually via Zoom to allow principals and teachers the opportunity to share important information with you as we begin this new year together. The Zoom links needed to join your child’s teachers will be sent in a separate, personalized email. Please be sure to keep this email! We hope to see you all on Wednesday night!
IV. Attendance Update
Attendance is crucial to a student’s success at Boston Prep. Students cannot master the content and skills of our rigorous academic program without being in school and on time every day. If your child has had a certain amount of unexcused tardies and/or unexcused absences, you will start to receive a letter in the mail or by email explaining the status of your child’s attendance, along with next steps taken.
If you have any questions in regards to the attendance policy or this letter, please do not hesitate to email: attendance@bostonprep.org
V. SAT Update
Due to the pandemic, we have decided to cancel the October 13th SAT at Boston Prep. If your senior would still like to take the SAT, they will need to register for the November 6th SAT at an off-site location. Mr. Canto and Mrs. Dewey will be able to assist your senior in registering for that date if there is interest. You can reach Mr. Canto at: acanto@bostonprep.org or Ms. Dewey at: sdewey@bostonprep.org
VI. Rocktober in the Middle School
Boston Prep Middle School will continue with our yearly tradition of celebrating ROCKtober. Through our tradition in ROCKtober, we strive to foster community, build a sense of Phoenix pride, while embodying our commitments to strengthen our community. This positively impacts our students, so they feel remembered and celebrated while staying connected in meaningful ways with each other. It will also contribute to higher morale, belongingness, understanding, awareness and kindness. This allows even more opportunity for students and the school as a whole to work together.
As we celebrate ROCKtober we will have dress down days on certain days, photo booths etc. One Team and students are encouraged and welcomed to participate by bringing our School Commitments to life and continuing to Rise like a Phoenix! We will begin ROCKtober on Monday,October 4, 2021. If your child will not be dressing up, students are expected to be in full uniform. The first week our focus will be on “Committing to Seek and Understand Diverse Perspectives.
Note: Every Wednesday in October students and One Team can wear Pink in Support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Stay tuned for all the fun details we have planned for the month!

Help us celebrate Latinx/Hispanic Heritage Month! Latinx/Hispanic Heritage Month is an annual celebration of the history and culture of the U.S. Latinx and Hispanic communities.
