I. Middle School Welcome Potluck
Middle school students and families are invited to the Welcome Potluck on Saturday, September 17th from 11:30 - 1pm at Boston Prep! This will be a time for families, students, and teachers to build community and get to know each other. There will be food, games, music, and time to tour classrooms. Please RSVP by filling out this survey. We would love your support with the potluck by bringing in food and drink items to share with our middle school community!
II. Boston Prep Office Hours: (Tues/Wed/Thurs)
As a reminder, there is no after school programming on Mondays or Fridays. Office hours on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will run from 3:10pm to 4:15pm for MS and HS students. Students can check in with their teachers directly to learn more about their particular days and locations for additional support. Please note that detention also starts at 3:10pm and all athletics will begin at 4pm.
III. Senior College/Career Counseling September Update
Throughout the month of September, the CCO will be holding individual family meetings to discuss the college process and timeline. Ariel Perry and Sarah Dewey, our college counselors, will be reaching out to schedule these meetings throughout the months of September and October. During the meeting, we will discuss your senior’s college/career list, as well as ways in which we hope to partner with you throughout the year. If possible, we ask that all families bring their 2021 taxes, as that is an important part of the financial aid process.
IV. Student Start of Year Checklist
We are looking to form and continue a productive partnership with you to ensure your children reach their highest potential. Students and families should use this checklist to ensure that students are ready for the year ahead. This checklist is applicable to all students in grades 6 -12.

VI. SEPAC (Special Education Parent Advisory Council) and ELPAC (English Learners Parent Advisory Council)
SEPAC and ELPAC welcomes all new and returning families back to Boston Prep! Meetings for ELPAC and SEPAC will begin in October 2022 - dates and times to follow!
SEPAC (Special Education Parent Advisory Council) is a cross-functional team of parents and educators. Our purpose is to inform Boston Prep families with children who have a disability by meeting throughout the school year to discuss educational needs, identify resources, share information, raise awareness, and advocate for students with disabilities.
ELPAC (English Learners Parent Advisory Council) What is ELPAC? ELPAC stands for English Learners Parent Advisory Council. At Boston Prep, participation is open to all members of the Boston Prep community interested in learning more and supporting the needs of English Learners.
Why do we have an ELPAC? In 2017, Governor Baker signed into law the Language Opportunity for Our Kids Act (LOOK Act). The goal of this new law is to improve the education of English learners (ELs). The law has created more opportunities for input from parents and guardians of English learners in language acquisition programs.
VII. Join Boston Prep’s Family Committee
Are you interested in joining our Family Committee?
Our Family Committee is a chance for our families to play a big role in our school community! Family voices are extremely important in helping shape our school and being a part of this committee provides a crucial platform for parent-school communication.
If so, this is your chance! The Committee’s main goals are to provide a meaningful impact in their child's school experience, while also having the opportunity to create activities and events for families to connect and build stronger relationships with one another. We want to hear from you! Your voice and your support matters and is needed. All families are welcome and encouraged to participate! During the SY22-23 school year, the family committee will be meeting once a month.
If you are interested in learning more and getting more involved, sign up now! Family Committee Sign Up
Interested in Learning More?? There will be an informal meet and greet at the Middle School Start of Year Potluck on Saturday, September 17th at Boston Prep from 11:30 - 1pm.
