I. COVID Testing - REMINDER

Since returning from Winter Break, there has been some confusion about a few aspects of Boston Prep’s COVID testing approach.

·        To participate in student pooled testing, parents/caregivers must complete and sign a consent form. If you have not yet done this (and would like to do so), please contact our Nursing Team at nurses@bostonprep.org

·        Students with consent forms in place, as well as all faculty members, are tested on Monday (or Tuesday if there is no school on Monday). Students who are parts of positive or inconclusive pools retest immediately upon arrival at school on Tuesdays (or the day after testing)

·        You will be notified by Boston Prep’s Nursing Team if your student tests positive for COVID. If you do not receive notification from our Nurses, you should assume that your child has not tested positive

Please feel free to reach out to our Nursing Team at nurses@bostonprep.org with any questions.

At Boston Prep, health and safety is our number one priority.  We ask for your help, as families, in a few ways.

Keep your child home if they are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in close contact with someone with COVID-19.  If you believe your child is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or has been exposed to someone with COVID-19, please immediately contact our nurses, Ms. Golafaie, Ms. Etheart and Ms. Fenoglietto, at nurses@bostonprep.org.  Our nurses will partner with you to determine whether your child must remain home from school and for how long.

If you have not yet registered your child for our FREE COVID testing program, please do so now!

II. Upcoming Family Town Hall

Join us TONIGHT, Wednesday, January 12, 6:00 PM at our Family Town Hall. Topic to be discussed will be: Covid Health & Safety. If you haven’t registered yet, you still have time to click on this link and Register. Visit our website to view our other upcoming Town Halls.

We are eager to have as many families as possible join us for this Town Hall so that we can continue to partner together to ensure Boston Prep is an excellent, equitable school for all.

IV. Community Events/Announcements

  • Commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King Day: Please join the Hyde Park partners with Boston for a presentation of a Commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King Day. Organized by the Racial Equity and Justice Forum of Hyde Park and sponsored by KIng Boston, Hyde Park Main Streets and others, this  90-minute session is planned for January 17, 2022, 12:30-2:00pm, via Zoom. During their virtual presentation and conversation, they will explore the theme of the "beloved community", a theme Dr. King referenced often.

They will discuss how the theme is represented in the community currently and what are the

opportunities to start or further the "beloved community" in Hyde Park. The Group will not only

engage with  the reigning Miss Black America - Ryann Richardson- on the work of activism, her

platform, and her impact, but they will have an opportunity to do a "beloved community" practice

after the presentation and conversation. Their hosts are City Councilor at Large Julia Mejia and Local

This is an exciting program that promises to leave you inspired and empowered! You will also learn
