I. Updated 2021-2022 Dress Codes

This year’s dress codes are now live on our website!  Please read carefully to make note of changes for this new school year, made in response to student feedback.

Note that middle school students do not need to purchase any uniform items this year. High school students who wish to purchase shirts are strongly encouraged to do so by this Friday, August 6. See the links below for further details and ordering instructions.

II. Anti-Racism Survey

As part of our anti-racism work, we ask that you complete this 5-minute anonymous survey about your Boston Prep experience. Our goal is for 50% of families and caregivers to complete the survey by Wednesday, August 4th, and we’ll be sending daily text message reminders and updates on our progress. Thank you in advance for your input!

III.  Recap: Last Week’s Family Town Hall

Thank you to all who joined us for July’s Family Town Hall!  We discussed health and safety planning, academic acceleration, and our new Circle practice to provide social emotional learning opportunities for all students.  If you missed the meeting, you can view the slides here.

Our August Family Town Hall will be held on Wednesday, August 25 at 6:00PM.

IV. Summer Assignments

All Boston Prep students have summer assignments to complete to continue growing their skills over the summer months.  Assignments are available on our Family Resources website throughout the summer.  Students have different assignments, based on their grade level.

  • Rising 6th graders: Summer reading

  • Rising 7th graders: Summer reading & math

  • Rising 8th - 12th graders: Summer reading, math, & history

Note that “rising” indicates the grade the student will be entering in the Fall.  For example, rising 6th graders are students who just completed 5th grade and will enter 6th grade in the fall.

V. Summer Meal Access & Special Meal Tomorrow!

We will continue to serve nutritious, delicious, freshly prepared meals throughout the summer!  These meals are FREE to all children 18 and under, whether or not they attend Boston Prep.  Meals are available for pick-up Tuesday - Thursday, 8am - 6pm.

As a part of our collaboration with the Afrimerican Cultural Initiative, an initiative led by Boston Prep parent Marlon Solomon, Boston Prep has a cultural nutrition program in which we are piloting meals that represent our community’s diverse cultures. Tomorrow (Wednesday, 8/4), we will be serving up Jollof Rice for FREE to families with children under 18 years old. Please stop by between 8am and 6pm to pick up your Jollof Rice. Then, complete this brief survey to let us know what you think!

VI. 2021-2022 Calendar

An updated 2021-2022 calendar is available on our website.  The first day of school for all students will be Monday, August 30, which will be a half day.  While we had previously communicated that the first week of school would be all half days, please note that it will be a regular week of school following normal start and dismissal times (as shown below).

VII. Athletics Registration

We are excited to announce the return of the Boston Prep athletics program for the upcoming school year!  (Please note that we continue to monitor the safety of athletics, and our plans will adapt, as needed, in accordance with the most current health and safety guidelines.)

With 19 sports programs offered in both the middle school and high school, our student-athletes will have the opportunity to choose from a wide array of sports.  Our sport offerings are as follows:
