The Du Bois Award is one of the highest honors at Boston Prep. Named after W. E. B. Du Bois, the award recognizes a student who embodies the core virtues of Boston Prep -- courage, compassion, integrity, perseverance, and respect. The award is an opportunity to highlight students who have shown high levels of academic achievement or growth along with a high level of character development. In essence, Du Bois Award winners are students who embody the mission of Boston Prep.
Congratulations to our Du Bois Award Recipient, Adetayo A '23! Adetayo was honored by his teachers Ms. Berkley, Ms. Notes, and Ms. Halloran.
“This student is one of those kids who makes me love teaching. This student makes me smile whenever they enter the classroom through their refreshing sense of humor and positive attitude. They have quickly become someone who I know I can trust and rely on.” - Adetayo’s ELA Teacher
“Their smile alone can make your day, and he is able to delicately strike the balance of goofy and committed without taking himself too seriously. Above all else, they are an incredible teammate - quick to notice when others might need a pick me up, funny story, good joke, or an extra voice as teammates round the final turn on the track or cross country course. This selflessness and ability to connect with others will continue to be a privilege for others to witness.” - Adetayo’s Track Coach
