Two Boston Prep seniors performed an original rap – a duel between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr, inspired by the Broadway hit Hamilton – on stage at the Boston Opera House while their classmates, thousands of students from around the state, and the Hamilton cast cheered them on.

Boston Prep students demonstrated significant growth - among the top in the city and the state - on the 2018 MCAS exams.

Mayor Martin J. Walsh was among those who joined the Boston Prep community on Saturday, September 8 for a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of construction of the school’s new comprehensive middle and high school facility located at 885 River Street in Hyde Park.

I have taught high school math at Boston Prep for the past three years, and each fall, during the first week of school, I have attended a house retreat with my advisees and the rest of the Sinceritas house. However, I have never participated in the physically challenging activities designed to push us, teachers and students alike, outside our comfort zone - until this year.

It is the first hour of the first day of ninety-one students’ first year of high school.  Members of the freshman class are seated on the bleachers of the gymnasium with collars popped, ready to add on the final part of their new professional uniform. Together, they will learn the ins and outs – and overs and unders – of tying a tie.
